To the editor:

The Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard would like to thank everyone who contributed to the veterans’ van project. Thanks to you, between our donations and current pledges, we have met our goal! We specifically want to thank the following individuals and families: Benny Eaton, Jim Priest, Sam and Cheryl Goodin, the Barrets, Carsons, Graveses, Kinnamans, Joneses, Whites, Millers, Bogans and the Schmidt family.

We would also like to thank the following organizations for their donations: VFW post 2693; Life Choice; Post 119 of the American Legion and the Sons of the Legion; Post 391 of the American Legion in Fortville; the VFW of Fortville; the 40 & 8 Voiture 1415; the American Legion Post 182 of New Palestine and the Sons of the Legion; the Reserve Sheriff’s Association; the Elks of Greenfield; the city of Greenfield; the Degree of Honor Society; the FOP; and the Marine Corps League chapter 1263.

The folks of our county have always been patriotic and very supportive of our veterans and their causes. This is one of the reasons that makes Hancock County a most desirable place to live and raise a family. Thank you again for supporting this cause. Your donations will be used to purchase a new van to transport our veterans to and from the veteran’s hospital in Indianapolis for years to come.
