GREENFIELD — Hancock County Election Office officials say the department does not mail out unsolicited absentee forms.

Hancock County Clerk Marcia Moore said the office has recently answered numerous calls from voters about receiving unwanted absentee applications in the mail. Some have received the mailers after voting early.

If you have obtained an unsolicited absentee application in the mail, Moore said there is no obligation to complete the form. Moore also said voters should not call the election office regarding the form.

Early voting is ongoing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the Hancock County Courthouse and at McCordsville Town Hall. If any voter wants to apply for an absentee ballot, you can go to the state’s website.
