Kavanaugh debacle a stain on our nation

To the editor:

I am finished with this madness. This entire debacle with Judge Kavanaugh has been a stain on our nation.

Dr. Ford was sexually assaulted by someone. I believe her when she says it was by Judge Kavanaugh, but numerous people say it could not have been him. I still believe her, but my beliefs carry no weight.

It is up to Dr. Ford to find a therapist who has the skills to analyze what happened to her and to determine what really happened. Maybe she was actually assaulted by someone else. It is up to her if she now wants to pursue finding out.

We will then need to pursue a sitting Supreme Court justice and remove him from the bench. Had the Democrats acted responsibly and pursued this privately as soon as they knew about the accusations, we would not be in the situation we are in. Instead they chose to wait for an “aha” moment to create the most chaos and blame it on the Republicans.

And the Republicans, instead of stepping back and asking for FBI help from the beginning, chose to continue the circus and stage public hearings with Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh.

In the end, the FBI ended up completing a shortened investigation that seems to show he has done nothing wrong. It should be noted previous investigations showed no evidence of wrong doing by the judge. Democrats want to claim there were reports that were hidden that would say otherwise, but we do not know for certain. More innuendos, no proof.

I am angry at the people who represent us in Congress. The people who want their seats, with few exceptions, are no better. I have called for truly competent people to step forward. Given the state of our Congress and other elected bodies, I am not sure why we would expect anyone to step forward. I can only hope and pray.
