Touch a Truck set for Sept. 15

MT. COMFORT — The fifth annual Touch a Truck is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 15) at Harvest Church, 6107 W. Airport Blvd.

There will be many trucks from the community, such as a fire truck, Hancock County SWAT truck, ambulance, the amazing Bubble Truck and more.

This free event also features snacks, crafts and music.

Car show coming to Mt. Comfort

MT. COMFORT — The second annual Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church Car Show is set for noon to 3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 15) at the church, 3179 N. County Road 600W (Mt. Comfort Road), Greenfield.

Car owners pay entry fees to compete in the show, and hotdogs and pulled pork meals with macaroni and cheese will be available for sale, but there’s no admission charge to stop by and look at the cars. Proceeds help fund church youth programs.

A band will play a mix of music, from religious to rock ‘n’ roll songs, including Elvis Presley music.

Bazaar looks ahead to Christmas

NEW PALESTINE — The United Methodist Women at New Palestine United Methodist Church will have their annual 94 Days Until Christmas Craft & Vendor Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 22 at the church, 3565 S. County Road 500W (Gem Road).

Bluegrass group to perform at church

KNIGHTSTOWN — Russell Van Winkle and Friends will play bluegrass gospel music during the monthly gospel sing at 6 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 15) at Knightstown Church of God, 405 North St., Knightstown.

Zion Lutheran plans GermanFest

NEW PALESTINE — Zion Lutheran Church and School, 6513 W. County Road 300S, will celebrate its German heritage with the 43rd annual GermanFest on Sept. 29.

The event includes Touch a Truck and a 5K walk and run.

An a la carte lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner, priced at $15 for adults and $6 for children, will be served from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The meal features sauerbraten, ribs and kraut, ham, green beans, German potato salad, brats and wieners, potato pancakes, pretzels and desserts.

Curry’s Chapel sets Homecoming for Sept. 30

GREENFIELD — Curry’s Chapel United Methodist Church will celebrate its annual Homecoming on Sept. 30. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m., and a pitch-in dinner follows.
