Fish fry meal coming to Methodist church

GREENFIELD — Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9, will serve a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 18.

The menu will include fried fish, french fries, hush puppies, baked beans, slaw, desserts and beverages. Hot dogs and carry-out also will be available.

Donations will be accepted, with proceeds used for missions and special projects.

Pulled pork dinner coming

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church’s next community dinner is set for 4:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at the church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

The menu features pulled pork, fresh corn, salad and dessert. Donations will be accepted.

Love INC plans 5K, church expo

GREENFIELD — The Love Runs Deep 5K Run/Walk is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 22 on the Pennsy Trail.

A Kids’ Dash for ages 12 and younger starts at 9:15. There is no cost to children to participate.

The 5K begins at 9:30. Registration is $25 per person or $100 for a team of five. A free T-shirt and sling bag will be available for participants 13 and older.

The Hancock County Church Expo will be going on at the Hancock County Courthouse Plaza with information about local churches.

Amity offers games, barbecue to community

MT. COMFORT — Amity United Methodist Church plans a community barbecue from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 11 at the church, 6042 W. County Road 100N, Greenfield.

It will include games, free plants, children’s activities, live entertainment and food. The menu features pulled pork, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw, chips, desserts and drinks available for a free-will offering.

Vendors will be set up from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A bloodmobile and health booths will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“This is not a fundraiser,” the Rev. Ford Bond, pastor, wrote in an email to the Daily Reporter. “Amity simply wants to let the community know, and those unchurched, that we are part of the community ready and able to minister to the needs of our neighbors, and willing to partner with other churches.”

Gospel sing features Murray Family

KNIGHTSTOWN — The Murray Family will be featured at 6 p.m. Aug. 18 during the monthly gospel sing at Knightstown Church of God, 405 E. North St., Knightstown.

‘Hello, Greenfield!’ to feature food, games

GREENFIELD — The second annual “Hello, Greenfield!” community event is set for noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 25 at Evangel Christian Church, 1221 E. Main St.

This free event will feature food, games, prizes, vendor booths, bounce houses and more.

Local church offers Monday worship

CUMBERLAND — “Monday: The Bookend of the Weekend” is a summer worship service at 6:30 p.m. Mondays at St. John United Church of Christ, 11910 E. Prospect St.

It’s a weekday worship service for those who cannot attend Sunday or just want to attend an evening of worship and music. Ice cream will be served.
