The Indiana State Police, along with troopers from Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Michigan and Pennsylvania, will be conducting statewide patrols targeting violations of the “Move Over” laws in each of those states starting Sunday.

“We will be conducting extra patrols which will be targeting drivers who are violating Indiana’s ‘Move Over’ law,” said Lieutenant Tom McKee, Commander of the Indiana State Police Post in Lafayette.

“Slowing down or moving over is such an easy thing to do. It could save the life of a friend, relative or a complete stranger. Please yield to an provide room for police vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, rescue equipment, highway maintenance, utility service vehicles and tow trucks.”

The project, which runs from Sunday through July 28, will include all Indiana roadways.
