Ten West youth production purrrforms “The Aristocats”

FORTVILLE — Ten West Center for the Arts, 10 W. Church St., presents Disney’s “The Aristocats Kids” as its summer youth program Friday and Saturday. Based on the Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, “The Aristocats Kids” takes place in the heart of Paris, as a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. When a greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper, it’s up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O’Malley, and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day. Get messy at the Teen Color Party at the library

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, finishes out the summer with a Teen Color Party from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday. Participants should dress for a mess and wear sunglasses for an hour of games bursting with clouds of colored powders. The cornstarch based powders are non-toxic, but will stain clothes. Shoe covers will be provided. Those who plan to attend need to register in advance and turn in a completed permission slip available at the children’s desk in the library.
