GREENFIELD — A post on the social media app Snapchat led police to arrest nearly 20 teenagers, each accused of underage drinking, at a party on the Fourth of July, records show.

An anonymous tip was called into Hancock County’s Underage Drinking Task Force just before midnight Wednesday, officials said.

The caller saw a post on Snapchat that showed local youth drinking at a house party. The caller recognized the house shown in the video and was able to provide the address, records show.

Police went to the home, located in the 7500 block of East County Road 550S in Morristown, and broke up the party, officials said.

Twelve teens older than 18 were arrested and booked into the Hancock County Jail overnight on a charge of illegal consumption of alcohol. The remaining party-goers were juveniles, who were turned over to their parents, officials said.

Parties can be reported to the Underage Drinking Task Force by calling 317-477-2789.
