INDIANAPOLIS — Hancock County college student McKayla Mohr received a $500 Carolyn Hegel Memorial Scholarship from Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Tuesday, according to an INFB press release. Mohr has not declared a university of study, but the scholarship money can be applied for her tuition, housing, books or other educational expenses, the release states.

Thirteen similar scholarships were awarded to college students involved in agriculture, as well as two adult education scholarships.

“One of the most impactful things that Farm Bureau does for our youth is provide scholarships for young men and women hoping to pursue a career in agriculture,” said Isabella Chism, INFB 2nd vice president and chair of the women’s leadership committee. “There are many wonderful career opportunities in this industry and we know our scholarship winners have a bright future ahead of them.”
