The Greenfield-Central School Corporation is warning of a telemarketing scam targeting local residents.
According to the corporation, calls have been received by area businesses from companies identifying themselves as Sports Media Advertising, based out of Dallas, Texas, and All-Sports Calendars, claiming to be a local group. During the calls, businesses are asked to purchase sports calendars and banners as a fundraiser for Greenfield-Central Athletics.
The corporation warns that Greenfield-Central Athletics does not contract with outside organizations to raise money for athletic teams.
