McCordsville church plans breakfast

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church will serve breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday (May 19) at the church, 6247 W. Broadway.

The menu features biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. Donations will be accepted.

Baccalaureate service planned at New Pal

NEW PALESTINE — Area churches will sponsor the annual Baccalaureate service to honor New Palestine High School graduating seniors.

It is set for 7 p.m. Thursday in the NPHS Auditorium at the north end of the school on Victory Drive.

The public is invited to this non-denominational community service. Several clergy and laypeople participate in planning the evening.

This year Rob Walker of Walker IT and New Palestine Hardware will deliver the message.

Organizers say the service is a religious farewell and blessing to the graduating senior class, remembering class members in prayer and celebrating their achievements. The student-led service offers choral and solo music along with testimonies.

Baccalaureate also set for 6th-graders

NEW PALESTINE — Volunteers organizing a Baccalaureate at Sugar Creek Elementary School invite sixth-graders and their parents to the farewell ceremony set for 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the school gym.

Students participating should line up by 7:15 a.m.

They and their parents are invited to a brief reception in the school cafeteria either before-hand from 7 to 7:25 a.m. or afterward from 8:30 a.m. on. To donate or volunteer, call 317-409-4911.

This is not a school-sponsored event and not mandatory for students.

Race fans: Worship the night before

GREENFIELD — Trinity Park United Methodist Church will offer a service at 5:30 p.m. May 26 for race fans who will be at the Indianapolis 500 the next day, or others who find that time slot beneficial. Everyone is welcome. Casual attire is fine. The church is located at 207 W. Park Ave.

Fish fry meal coming to Methodist church

GREENFIELD — Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9, will serve the annual fish fry from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (May 19).

The menu will include fried fish, french fries, hush puppies, baked beans, slaw, desserts and beverages. Hot dogs and carry-out also will be available.

Donations will be accepted, with proceeds used for missions and special projects.

Quartet to perform at Fortville church

FORTVILLE — Blessed Truth Quartet will be in concert during the 10 a.m. service Sunday at Fortville United Methodist Church, 125 E. Staat St.

Electronics recycling set at Mt. Lebanon UMC

GREENFIELD — Dispose of unwanted household electronics at a recycling event in June.

Technology Recyclers will accept items from 8 a.m. to noon June 9 at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9.

CRT monitors and tube TVs can be disposed of for $20 each.

For other items, the event is free, but donations will be accepted. Accepted items include computers, laptops, office copiers, speakers, VCRs, cables and wires, medical electronics, batteries, printers, fax machines, PDAs, DVD players, stereos, cell phones, microwaves and game systems.

Breakfast, bounce house planned for Friend Day

GREENFIELD — Apostolic Pentecostal Church will have Friend Day on Sunday at the church, 1202 E. Fifth St.

The church will service breakfast from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m., with a cookout, bounce house and activities following.
