U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 6 REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE
Q: Partisan politics has been blamed for political gridlock at the federal level, ranging from approval of spending bills to Supreme Court nominations to filibusters on legislation. How is partisanship most problematic and how would you try to promote bipartisan efforts?
A: Gridlock is resulting from the vitriol and antagonism being displayed by the mainstream media and the Democratic Party against President Trump and his America First agenda. I will not succumb to these forces. Rather, I’ll stand up for the forgotten men and women of the 6th District.
Q: Congress and the president so far have been unable to reach a compromise on a legislative solution for young immigrants who came into the U.S. illegally as children. Where do you stand on the “Dreamers” issue?
A: My wife is Hispanic; her family came here legally. I don’t support amnesty in any form. I care for the “Dreamers,” and believe we should provide a path to legalization, not citizenship. If they want to become citizens, they can go through the legal process to become one.
