University handbell choir coming soon

FORTVILLE — A University of Indianapolis handbell ensemble will be in concert at 2 p.m. Sunday (April 8) at Fortville United Methodist Church, 125 E. Staat St. A free-will offering will be accepted.

The choir also will be in the 10 a.m. service, followed by a potluck.

McCordsville church to serve potato bar

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church will serve dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. April 14 at the church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

The menu features a baked potato bar and a salad bar. Donations will be accepted.

Fellowship of Churches offers scholarship

NEW PALESTINE — New Palestine Fellowship of Churches will give a $500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who attends or is a member or constituent of one of the churches affiliated with the Fellowship of Churches.

Churches in the group are Community Christian Church, Cross of Grace Lutheran Church, New Palestine Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), New Palestine United Church/His Place on East Main Street and New Palestine United Methodist Church on Gem Road.

Selection criteria will include participation in church activities, community involvement and scholarship, as well as special emphasis on a statement of how faith affects the student’s daily life.

Applications may be picked up from a student’s minister or from that church’s office. Applications are also available at New Palestine High School. Applicants do not have to attend the school.

Each candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and show evidence of enrollment.

Application deadline is May 1. Turn in applications to one’s minister or church office or to the guidance department at New Palestine High School.

New Life will present ‘Hope Alive in Me’

FORTVILLE — New Life Christian Fellowship will present “Hope Alive in Me: A Musical Celebration of Jesus’ Cross and Resurrection” the 8:55 and 10:35 a.m. services Sunday (April 8) at the church, 1574 W. State Road 234, Fortville.

Eden United Methodist to serve Italian Feast

EDEN — Eden United Methodist Church will serve an Italian-themed meal from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday (April 8) at the church, 2122 Eden Road, Greenfield.

The menu features spaghetti, lasagna, baked ziti, salad, bread and dessert. Donations will be accepted.

Pianist to present concert at church

FORTVILLE — Pianist Huntley Brown will be in concert with the Judson University choir at 6 p.m. Sunday (April 8) at The Bridge Church, 611 Vitality Drive, Fortville.

The Chapel Choir to perform gospel music

GREENFIELD — The Chapel Choir from Hobe Sound Bible College in Hobe Sound, Florida, will present an evening of gospel music at 7 p.m. April 10 at Greenfield Wesleyan Church, 400 S. Noble St.

Spud Supper slated for Mt. Lebanon church

GREENFIELD — The annual Spud Supper is set for 4 to 6:30 p.m. April 14 at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9.

The menu will feature a baked potato bar with toppings, salads, desserts and beverages. Hot dogs and carry-out also will be available. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds used for missions.
