Dragons senior signs with UIndy football
New Palestine High School senior Levi McKinney has signed to play football at the University of Indianapolis.
McKinney was a multi-year starter as the Dragons’ long snapper, handling the snapping duties for punts and field goals. The Dragons went 36-0 in the regular season during his four years with the program. He was a freshman on the 2014 state championship team and a sophomore on the 2015 state runner-up squad.
He will play for Bob Bartolomeo at UIndy, an NCAA Div. II program in Indianapolis. The Greyhounds went 11-1 last season and won the Great Lakes Valley Conference title.

Weather postpones county games
Inclement weather again postponed area games Wednesday.
Greenfield-Central softball against Northeastern has been canceled, with a makeup date to be decided. New Palestine tennis against Whiteland has been moved to 4:30 p.m.today. Dragons softball against Whiteland now will be played May 4 at 5:30 p.m.
New Palestine softball also has moved Friday’s game against New Castle to 5:30 p.m. today.

Dragons lead way in 3A preseason poll
Defending state champion New Palestine has earned a No. 1 ranking in the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association preseason softball poll. Eastern Hancock is No. 10 in the season’s initial rankings.
