Young filmmakers wanted for summer program

FORTVILLE — Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation will offer two Youth and Technology workshops this summer: a four-day Filmmakers and Animators workshop for students interested in movie making and a four-day Robotics workshop in which participants will build, program, and control a robot they get to keep. Sessions are June 11 to 14, 18 to 21, 25 to 28, July 9 to 12 and 16 to 19. The movie making workshop meets from 9 a.m. to noon, and the afternoon robotics workshop meets from 1 to 4 p.m. The programs are open to students age 10 to 14; it is not necessary to live in Mt. Audition for ‘You Can’t Take It With You’

GREENFIELD — The CrazyLake Acting Company will conduct auditions for its upcoming production of “You Can’t Take It With You” by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman from 5 to 8 p.m. April 29 and from 6 to 8 p.m. April 30 at the Memorial Building, 98 E. North St. “You Can’t Take It With You” features Alice Sycamore, a normal young woman in an eccentric but cheerful family. Alice is in love with Tony Kirby, her boss. Her carefully laid plans for Tony’s straight-laced parents to meet her family go horribly wrong when the Kirbys arrive for dinner on the wrong night. Parts are available for 12 adult men and seven adult women. All roles are open. Auditioners should prepare to read from the script. Performance dates are the weekends of June 22 through July 1. Arts for Lawrence opens enrollment for arts camp

LAWRENCE — Arts for Lawrence offers four weeks of Summer Art Camp for kids ages 6 through 14 at Theater at the Fort, 8920 Otis Ave. The camp meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily with a different theme for each week. June 11 through 15 is Amusement Week, featuring theater acts in mime and circus; June 18 through 22 is Exploration Week featuring percussion instruments from around the world; Movement Week is June 25 through 29, featuring instructors from Dance Kaleidoscope; July 9 through 13 is Imagination Week featuring One Voice Acapella Chorus and Storytelling Arts of Indiana. Each week includes hands-on activities in painting, sculpture and pottery. Lunch is served; before and after care is available for an additional cost. Sessions are $125 per child.
