Restaurant Inspections – March 21

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food inspection Reports.

Feb. 20

Chicago’s Pizza

Location: 5917 W. Broadway, McCordsville

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — expired in-house made salad dressing, corrected/discarded; C — dish machine not sanitizing, corrected; NC — ice scoop must be stored in a clean, protected manner, clean storage container, corrected; NC/R — remove debris build-up from outside spray bottles, seasonings, etc. in pizza prep area, to be corrected by March 1; NC/R — need to remove debris/build-up from under pizza prep coolers, back storing clean utensils, door handles, corners/floors, removed water from bottom shelf cooler, to be corrected by May 1.

Bob Evans Farms

Location: 2256 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC — clean area between grill top and front knobs of bottom shelf on line, repair leak and caulking at top of mop sink, to be corrected by May 1.

McDonald’s

Location: 1490 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — employee observed touching clothing with food handling gloves and then going to touch food, corrected.

Feb. 21

Domino’s Pizza

Location: 2256 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: N/R — no documentation of certified food manager and have critical violations at current inspection, to be corrected by May 1; C/R — working containers/spray bottles storing chemicals/cleaners must be labeled with common name and stored in correctly named container, to be corrected by Feb. 21; NC/R — food thermometers are not accurate or are broken, need to have available and used sanitizing test strips, to be corrected by March 1.

Pizza King

Location: 237 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — need employee health policy available, protect food contact surface (cardboard circles) from contamination on top of oven, dish machine empty of sanitizing chemical, corrected; NC — calibrate food thermometer as needed, to be corrected by Feb. 25; NC/R — must use sanitizing test strips to confirm corrected concentration, corrected.

Qdoba Mexican Grill

Location: 2037 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — protect ice used for beverages from contamination, corrected; NC/R — repair hot water and all hand sinks, clean wheels of fryer and cart, to be corrected by May 1.

Circle K

Location: 1136 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — expired milk and lunch meat/hot dogs, corrected/discarded.

Treat America Food Service

Location: 400 W. New Road, Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC — clean containers/drawers where clean utensils are stored, repair leak at faucet of three-compartment sink, to be corrected by May 1.
