WESTFIELD
Edith Mae (Patterson) Highfill, 96, of Westfield, IN, passed away on March 19, 2018. Edith was born on January 30, 1922, in Jonesboro, AR, to Riley Owen Patterson and Mary Temple (Higginbotham) Patterson.
After completing her education, she worked for many years as a line worker for R.C.A. She later met and married her husband, Malcolm A. Highfill, who preceded her in death in 2001. Edith enjoyed reading, her puzzles, learning how to play computer games, and family lunches; however she found that her greatest joy was the time spent raising and caring for her family, who will all miss her very much.
Edith is survived by her son, Guy W. “Bill” (Judith) Sellmer; daughter, Sue A. (David Roettger) Sellmer; son, David (Sherry) Highfill; four grandchildren, Glenn Sellmer, Grant Sellmer, Chelsea McMurtrey, and Alison Highfill; as well as four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Hendryx Mortuary, 11636 East Washington St., Indianapolis, IN, 46229. Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
