Preschool to screen for peer program

GREENFIELD — The J.B. Stephens preschool will screening for the 2018-19 Typical Peer Program from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at the school, 1331 N. Blue Road. The typical peer program is for preschool children who will be at least 4 years old but no older than 5 years old by August 1, 2018. Typical peers possess age-appropriate skills and serve as good speech and social models for children who have special needs. To be eligible for the typical peer program, children are required to pass a speech screening. Applicants are chosen based on this screening and teacher observation. Parents and guardians will be notified on or before March 16 as to whether their child was selected. Should more applicants qualify than space allows, a drawing will be held to fill positions.
