CHARLOTTESVILLE
Frederick W. Muegge, 80, of Charlottesville, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on April 18, 1937 in Indianapolis as the son of the late William and Susan (Cartheuser) Muegge.
He graduated from Charlottesville High School. Fred farmed and worked for Irving Materials, Inc. for 37 years prior to his retirement. Fred enjoyed watching sports, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Beverly (Poer) Muegge; son, Douglas Muegge (wife, Kimberly); daughter, Pamela Carr (husband, Jason); five grandchildren, Mikaela (Carr) Hodges, Emily Muegge. Ashley Carr, Elizabeth Muegge, and Evan Muegge; sister, Martha Turner; nephew, Dave Muegge (wife, Nancy); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert, Richard, Charles, Carl and Robert; and sister, Margaret Lasley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Jack Holiday will be officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
