GREENFIELD — Students from Hancock County’s four high schools met recently to plan the annual “Happy Birthday, Hancock County” celebration through the Hancock County Community Foundation.

The students, four from each school, make up the Youth-Granting, Investing, Volunteering and Engaging in Hancock County youth board, which is a community foundation endeavor to connect county teens to projects and needs within their community.

March 1 marks the 190th anniversary of Hancock County’s creation. To celebrate, the youth board members will distribute history packets, county maps and coloring sheets to schools in Hancock County Feb. 26 to March 2.
