The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Jan. 10

Dollar General

Location: 4359 W. U.S. Highway 40, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Dairy Queen

Location: 801 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — must date mark lunch meats opened and held more than 24 hours, corrected; C/R — food contact surfaces/equipment/utensils must be cleaned and sanitized every four hours, corrected; NC — plumbing elbow at three-compartment sink has a crack and is leaking/overflowing onto floor, to be corrected by Feb. 10; NC — roof is leaking and is dripping at ceiling tiles, to be corrected by Feb. 10; NC — clean interior/doors/handles of all equipment, lean under racks to remove debris build-up, clean wall and floors at grill to remove grease build-up, to be corrected by April 1.

Circle K

Location: 1124 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — expired milk, corrected.

Jan. 16

AVI Food Systems

Location: 1300 W. Anderson Blvd., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: NC — protect muffins on salad bar from customers by wrapping, placing under sneeze guard, corrected.

Lincoln Square Pancake House

Location: 118 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — sanitizing solution is dispensing too low, corrected/service called.

Firehouse Subs

Location: 22 E. McClarnon Drive, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — employee seen handling money, then putting on gloves — hands need to be washed before putting on food handling gloves, corrected; NC — no soap at hand sink, to be corrected by April 1; C — sanitizer in sani-buckets not at the proper concentration, corrected.

Montana Mike’s

Location: 1945 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — employees need to change gloves/wash hands after touching raw fish and breading before touching food, equipment handles, utensils, etc., corrected; NC/R — ice scoop in bar needs to be stored in clean, protected manner, corrected; NC — clean under equipment in kitchen, legs of equipment, pipes by breading station and other places where dust/grease/food has accumulated, to be corrected by May 1.

Jan. 17

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Location: 2265 Barrett Dr., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — sanitizing solution in sani-bucket is too high, corrected; C — chili and vegetable soup not hot enough, corrected; C — dirty knife stored on magnetic strip, dirty strainer and measuring spoons stored with clean working utensils at salad prep rack, corrected.

Wooden Bear Brewing Company

Location: 21 W. North St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — must treat ice as ready-to-eat food and wear gloves/use scoop when handling, corrected.
