Vivian L. (Forster) Baumann, 79, of New Palestine, died on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born on May 7, 1938 in St. Louis, MO as the daughter of Walter and Lydia (Treichel) Forster.

She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1956. Vivian received her bachelors from Valparaiso University in 1961 and her masters in history from Purdue University. Vivian married Ronald W. Baumann on August 11, 1962 in Lafayette.

She was a teacher for many years with parochial and public school systems. Vivian was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine and served in the church in many ways. She liked reading and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Vivian is survived by her husband, Ronald W. Baumann of New Palestine; daughters, Elise (Bryan) McKee of New Palestine and Jessica (Nathan) Anderson of Broomfield, CO; five grandchildren, Johnathan (Aarika) McKee, Sabrina McKee, Marcus McKee, Victoria Anderson, and Christian Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, Jace and Adaline. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lydia Forster; sister, Constance Wilcox; and grandson, Bryce Anderson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 6513 West 300 South, New Palestine, IN 46163. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Mr. Jason Taylor and Reverend Mr. Martin Keller, Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wegan, IN will be officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Palestine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Zion Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 6513 West 300 South, New Palestine, IN 46163 or envelopes will be available at the church. Friends may share a memory or a condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
