HANCOCK COUNTY — Nonprofits serving Hancock County have a shot at some $180,000 in grant funding from the Hancock County Community Foundation.

The spring grant cycle, offered to nonprofit organizations, recently opened on the community foundation’s website, givehcgrowhc.org, with a deadline of 4 p.m. March 29.

The grant cycle offers nonprofits four types of grant opportunities, which are: strategic operating support funding, program and project support funding, capital improvement funding and endowment-building match funding, according to a news release.

Organizations may submit one application in each of the four categories by March 29; the foundation will notify applicants of their status by May 22. Organizations should contact Katie Ottinger, community investment and grants officer, with questions regarding the application or eligibility, at [email protected].

The Hancock County Community Foundation works with individuals, families and organizations to create or grow existing endowment funds, which generate income distributed in the form of grants and scholarships. The foundation has granted more than $13 million since its inception in 1992.
