GREENFIELD
Gerald D. Memmer, 69, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on February 1, 1949 in Lafayette, IN as the son of Clarence and Helen (Mann) Memmer.
Gerald served in the U.S. Marines. He married Beth A. (Happe) on October 6, 1990 in Cumberland, IN.
He worked for Hackett Publishing Company for 20 years. Gerald loved to boat and ride jet skis. He enjoyed spending time with his dog and was fascinated with all animals. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with them.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Beth Memmer of Greenfield; children, James (Brandi) Happe of Knightstown and Christine (Matthew) Kapfhammer of Fairland; and seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Clayton, Ellie, Peyton, Maggie, Aubrey and Kaydee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helen Memmer; and brother, John Memmer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Cindy Upchurch will be officiating.
