Restaurant Inspections – February 7

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Nov. 16

Chicago’s Pizza

Location: 1202 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — no documentation of certified food manager, to be corrected by Feb. 1; C/R — hand sink must be available at food prep line, to be corrected by Dec. 4; C/R — food thermometers are not accurate, to be corrected by Feb. 1; NC/R — need to have test strips for sanitizer available and used, to be corrected by Feb. 1.

Indulge

Location: 10 S. Main St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — must date-mark portioned lunch meat, corrected; C — sanitizing solution must be at correct concentration when used to sanitize, corrected; NC — clean doors and handles of sandwich prep cooler to remove build-up debris, to be corrected by Feb. 1; NC — container storing spoons must be clean to sight and touch, to be corrected by Nov. 16; NC — need food thermometer accessible, to be corrected by Feb. 1.

Speedway

Location: 6025 W. Broadway St., McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — expired deli sandwiches in cold case, corrected; C — tongs for customer self-service should be cleaned and sanitized every four hours, corrected; NC — the floor and coving under and next to the ice machine needs to be repaired/replaced, to be corrected by Feb. 1; NC — floor in kitchen/storage area needs to be cleaned to removed build-up, debris and grime, to be corrected by Feb. 1.

Tim’s Bakery

Location: P. O. Box 1, McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — sanitizing solution is not at correct concentration, to be corrected by Nov. 16; NC/R — clean rack storing equipment/dough cutters, tile backsplash around three-compartment sink needs to be cleaned and regrouted, storage containers’ exteriors and lid lips need to be cleaned as often as necessary, to be corrected by Feb. 1; NC/R — repair caulking at three-compartment sink, to be corrected by Feb. 1.

Panda Bear

Location: 21 S. Main St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: NC/R — clean handles of freezers, inside freezers, floor, hand sink handles, all door handles, hood and inside of prep cooker, to be corrected by Feb. 1.
