GREENFIELD
Violet L. (Kinder) Walker, 96, of Greenfield and formerly of Speedway, IN for 75 years, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Greenfield Healthcare. She was born on February 5, 1921 in Hancock County as the daughter of Raymond E. and Nellie P. (Comstock) Kinder.
She graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1939. Violet married Frank R. Walker on August 24, 1940 in Columbus, OH and they were married for 53 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Violet liked reading, traveling, playing bingo, bowling and square dancing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Candy (David) Niederhaus of Greenfield; two grandchildren, Sara L. (Andrew) Wilson of New Palestine and Scott D. (Kristyn) Niederhaus of Fountaintown; five great-grandchildren, Amberley Violet Wilson, Emmitt Nash Wilson, Reece Dixon Wilson, Brynnley Kinder Niederhaus, and Raegan Patrick Niederhaus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Nellie Kinder; husband, Frank Walker; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman (Marian) Kinder, Charles (Peggy) Kinder, Clarence (Maxine) Kinder, and Ferris (Ruby) Kinder; and five sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille (Monta) Bailey, Nina (Jim) Sitton, Pearl (Charlie) Broadlick, Freida (Bud) Duffey, and Clarice (Bob) Wood.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Paul Galbraith will be officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery in Whitestown, IN.
