GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department has put out a call for less-common Hoosier trees to add to the tree walk at Beckenholdt Park.
Naturalist Joe Whitfield seeks the following trees for planting in the park:
- Big-toothed Aspen
- American Beechnut
- Cottonwood
- Swamp Cottonwood
- Rock, American or Slippery Elm
- Dotted or Downy Hawthorn
- Butternut, Mockernut, n Pignut or Red Hickory
- Red Mulberry
- Rock Chestnut Oak
- Sassafras
- Staghorn Sumac
- Cockspur Thorn
Those who own any of those trees and would like to donate them to the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department may call 317-477-4340.
