Marie C. “Kaye” (Linden) Eckert, 82, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully with both sons at her side on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at her residence. She was born on February 14, 1935 in Antigo, WI as the daughter of Arnold and Bernice (Jansen) Linden.

She graduated from Antigo High School in Antigo, WI.

She worked for Western Electric in Indianapolis as an accounting clerk for 28 years. When the company was turned into AT&T, she worked as a Library Specialist and Computer Networking Manager until retiring in 1994. Marie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a bible study leader, a past president of Fieldstone Homeowner’s Association, and a 500-hour volunteer for the Hancock Country Regional Hospital gift shop. Kaye loved travelling (especially cruises), and enjoyed her weekly euchre get-togethers with friends.

She is survived by her sons, Ron (Nancy) Dedert of Geneva, IN and Bill Dedert of Seminole, FL; brother, John (Joan) Linden of Chicago, IL; and four grandchildren, Erin, Kyle, Shelby, and Sean. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Bernice Linden; husband, James Eckert, and sister, Lee Ann Lyons.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life service will be held immediately following visitation at 6:00 p.m. also at the mortuary. Reverend Wm. Daniel O’Connor will be officiating. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
