PAWS, local public library team up to make cat toys

GREENFIELD — Teens are invited to start the new year with a good deed by making cat toys for animals in foster care from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. Participating teens will receive a community service letter. The Partners for Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) also will be collecting donations of kitty litter, dry Purina cat, kitten, puppy and dog food, paper towels, laundry detergent, bleach, dish washing soap, new or gently used collars, leashes and pet carriers of all sizes. Kids invited to make 2-D snow globe for snowy weather

GREENFIELD — Children in first through fifth grade are invited to make a 2-D snow globe from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. Visit hcplibrary.org to register to attend this free activity. All materials are included.

Dance East auditions to open for Cinderella ballet

GREENFIELD — Dance East Ballet Company will audition for “Cinderella & More!” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 20. A mandatory parents meeting will be conducted from 10 to 1:30 a.m. followed by the audition. Director Dana Hart is looking to cast dancers age 6 and older for the roles of Grasshoppers, Pumpkins and Dragonflies. Casting also will be done for ensemble dancers in “Cinderella.” Rehearsals for the production will be conducted Friday evenings and Saturday mornings Jan. 26 through March 31.
