Jerry W. Privett, Sr., 70, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 20, 1947, in Indianapolis.

Jerry attended Greenfield High School and would serve in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Carmen Vega, on June 17, 1967. Jerry spent twenty years working at International Harvester until retiring in 1993. He was a member of the VFW Post #2693 and former member of the Morristown American Legion Post #102, and the American Veterans in Pendleton.

Left to cherish Jerry’s memory is his wife of 50 years, Carmen Privett of Greenfield; son, Jerry W. Privett, Jr., of Greenfield; daughter, Brenda M. (Gary) McConnell of Noblesville; brother, James Privett of Fortville; sisters, Kathy Privett of Texas; Patricia Wyatt of Greenfield; grandchildren; Jesse, Jayce, Aron, Mikel, Wil, and Kyle, several great grandchildren as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother Ruth Grinstead and brother-in-law, Joseph Wyatt.

A Memorial service will be held 5:30, Friday, December 29, 2017 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Military Rites provided by Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call 2:00 pm until the time of service.
