Erin “Bailey” Worthen, 25, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017. She was born on April 3, 1992 in Indianapolis, IN to Scott Hunsberger & Angela (Wooten) McGraw.

Bailey graduated from Franklin Central High School and later from Indiana University – Bloomington with her degree in Microbiology. Bailey married the love of her life, U.S. Marine Cpl. Travis Worthen on October 3, 2015. Bailey was a lifelong patient of Riley Children’s Hospital, which led to her career as a Microbiologist working for the Herman B. Wells Pediatric Research Center. Bailey lived her life to the fullest, never asking “Why me?” She devoted her life to pediatric research, and she was one of the first recipients of the Berlin Heart in the United States. Facing all the challenges she remained brave and worked diligently to help other kids with heart defects.

Bailey loved her three dogs, Rebel Cash; Scout June; and Remington Turner. She enjoyed her family more than anything, the outdoors, drawing, cooking, hot air ballooning and fundraising for Riley Hospital, including the Children’s Dance Marathon. She spent a lot of her time and energy to help make children’s lives better.

Left to cherish Bailey’s memory is her husband, Travis; parents, Scott (Nancy Gay); Angela (Tom) McGraw; two sisters, Josie & Marissa McGraw; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Allison Laws; sister-in-law, Ashley Worthen; grandparents, Ken (Judy) Hornbeck; Sid (Beverly) Hunsberger; Carol McGraw; Freeman (Phyllis) Traister; Mary Wooten; several cousins; aunts; uncles; and friends.
