Eugene Edward Waltz, 99, passed away December 13, 2017. He was the son of the late Henry and Dovey Waltz of New Palestine, Indiana.

He was a 1936 graduate of the old New Palestine High School and Indiana Business College, where he joined the GMAC of Indiana. He worked there for 41 years before retiring in 1978.

He was married to the late Evelyn Griffith, a high school sweetheart, in 1940 to 1974.

In retirement, he traveled extensively with his second wife, Genevieve Waltz. He also had a passion for woodworking and collecting antique clocks. In woodworking, he assembled some 200 clocks, music boxes, etc.

He belonged to the Beech Grove Masonic Lodge #694, the Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite, the Murat Shrine, the American Legion and the Indianapolis Hiking Club.

He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. He served in the Southwest Pacific region, mainly in New Guinea, the Philippines and Guam.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Waltz; son, Dr. Ronald (Candace) Waltz of La Jolla, CA; daughter, Marcia (Jim) McCall of Greenfield, IN; stepchildren, Mark (Nadia) Grasso of Phoenix, AZ, Charline (Mike) Avey of Indianapolis, Curtis (Dorothy) Grasso of Indianapolis and Vance (Abi) Grasso of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Richard (Jennifer) Payton of New Palestine, Lisa (Scott) Corwin of New Palestine, Justin (Jamie) Waltz of Portland, OR and Jonathan (Shana) Waltz of Cincinnati, OH; step grandchildren, Teague (Jillian) Avey of Richmond, VA, Erin Avey of Indianapolis, Jenna Grasso of St. Petersburg, FL, Carlo Grasso of Indianapolis, Violet Grasso of Colorado Springs, CO and Lily Grasso of Colorado Springs, CO; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dane Waltz, Joseph Waltz and Robert Waltz.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 10am until 12pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm also at the funeral center. Entombment with follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
