The New Palestine wrestling team put together a perfect day, winning the Northview Invitational on Saturday with a 5-0 record.

The Dragons defeated the Bloomington South junior varsity 73-4, Paoli 72-12, West Vigo 42-33, South Putnam 69-12 and Bedford North Lawrence 66-18.

Their performance improved their season record to 13-4.

Six Dragons went 5-0 at the invite to win individual titles, including Christian White (106 pounds), Chase Nelson (113), Noah Wright (145), Logan Robinson (170), Brayden Clevenger (195) and Landan Burton (220).

Robinson recorded five pins with his fastest time at 25 seconds. Burton, who is ranked 13th in the state by IndianaMat, had three falls. Clevenger scored three pins, and Wright had two.

Jared Diep (120), Christian Rudolph (126) and Zack Hoyt (132) all went 4-1 on the day. Max Jones (138), Chris Hafley (152), Richard Clevenger (160) and C.J. Faubion (182) were each 3-2.

Cougars take fifth

The Greenfield-Central wrestling team placed fifth at the Perry Meridian Quin Duals on Saturday.

Host No. 3 Perry Meridian won, followed by No. 8 Columbus East in second, William Mason in third and Oldham County in fourth. Warren Central was sixth.

The Cougars lost to William Mason 44-24, Columbus East 41-26, Perry Meridian 69-6 and to Oldham 40-34. They defeated the Warren Central junior varsity 51-27.

Sixth-ranked Gavin Rose (120) and Larry Evans (126) both finished 4-1 on the day. Dylan Dorman (113) and Kenny Thompson (138) were 3-2, along with 11th-ranked Cooper Noehre (145), ninth-ranked Brad Lowe (170) and Hunter Gulden (220).

The Cougars host No. 11 Roncalli on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Marauders win Invite

The Mt. Vernon wrestling team finished 5-0 to win the Neil Muse Invitational title at Lapel on Saturday.

Max Hayes (145), Chase Wilkerson (120), Drake Kendrex (160), Charlie Moore (170) and Chris Wilkerson (132) captured individual weight class championships.

Chris Wilkerson was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the meet with five pins.

Royals win three at Lapel

The Eastern Hancock wrestling team finished 3-2 at the Neil Muse Invitational at Lapel on Saturday.

The Royals defeated Lapel 51-29, Mississinewa 48-27 and Lafayette Jeff 55-18. Their losses were to Mt. Vernon 45-28 and Anderson 54-25.

Caleb Giddings (138), Jordyn Wills (152) and Clayton Cochard (195) each went 5-0 to win their individual weight classes. Dylan Anderson (106), Avery Wills (145) and Garett Friesen (160) were 4-1.

Ethan Boyer (132) and Alexander Burton (220) were 3-2.
