SPICELAND
Ruby Katherine Barker, 95, of Spiceland passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, November 30, 2017. She was born on March 10, 1922 in Westfield, IN to the late Ernest W. and Dorotha (Repass) Davis.
Ruby Katherine’s greatest desire was to serve the Lord, as a pastor’s wife to her late husband, Edwin. Together they served several Friends Meetings in Central Indiana, including Westland Friends, Anderson Friends, Hemlock Friends, and assistant pastor of Spiceland Friends, of which she has been a member since 1976.
She was a 1940 graduate of Carmel High School and attended Asbury College in Wilmore, KY. Ruby Katherine enjoyed serving and flower gardening.
Survivors include her son, David (Karla) Barker of Farmington, NH; grandson, William Barker of Farmington, NH; brother, Victor (Jackie) Davis of Noblesville; sister, Vera Young of Alabama and several nieces, nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruby Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Barker; brother, Myron Kenneth Davis; brother-in-law, Morris Barker and Lee Young; sisters-in-law, Ruth Null and Martha Robinette.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Spiceland Friends Meeting with David Brock and Cathy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
