SHELBYVILLE
William L. Christopher, Jr., 78, of Shelbyville, formerly of Knightstown, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. He was born January 7, 1939 in Topeka, KS the son of William and Mary (Wallace) Christopher, Sr.
Bill retired from CVS and Marsh Pharmacies. He formerly owned Jolly Drug Store in Knightstown for 28 years. He served on the Knightstown town board, Chamber of Commerce, Knightstown United Methodist board and was a member of Hostas Society and NRA. He currently attended First Christian Church in Shelbyville. Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed reading mystery novels and westerns. He loved fantasy football with his grandchildren and Chicago sports teams.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Christopher of Shelbyville; four children, Scott Christopher of Whitestown, Keith Christopher of Sheridan, Brian (Lisa) Christopher of Indianapolis and Diane (Greg) Butler of Knightstown; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife of 50 years, Rosemarie N. Christopher on November 7, 2015.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Knightstown United Methodist Church with Pastors Curt Hunt and Beth Crouch officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel.
