NEW PALESTINE — Zion Lutheran Church & School celebrated its German heritage with food and entertainment at the 42nd annual GermanFest in October.
After a day of hayrides, bounce houses, face painting, a bean bag toss tournament and lessons in German culture, a dinner was served. The menu included ribs and kraut, Saurbraten, ham, brats, sauerkraut, German potato salad, potato pancakes, red cabbage, green beans, pretzels and rolls. During dinner, Bob Schlatter’s German Band, from the Lafayette area, created German ambiance.
