NEW PALESTINE — The fourth annual community sing of Handel’s “Messiah” takes place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church, 3519 S. County Road 600W, New Palestine.

Greenfield Community Orchestra and the church will present six selections from the work, including “And the Glory of the Lord,” “For Unto Us a Child is Born,” and “Hallelujah!” with its famous chorus.

Singers of high school age and older are welcome. See “Messiah Community Sing” on Facebook for updates and links to YouTube videos to help in learning the songs.

Gayle Beebe, who helps organize the event, said it’s a blessing to kick off the advent season with this work performed by local instrumental and vocal musicians in a relaxed atmosphere.

“No experience is necessary,” she wrote in an email to the Daily Reporter. “We’re just there to celebrate together, imperfect and beautiful.”
