Color contest decides who will ‘flip the switch’

INDIANAPOLIS — A color contest sponsored by Carson’s department store will determine who gets to “flip the switch” to turn on the lights for the downtown Indianapolis Circle of Lights celebration Nov. 24. Children age 3 through 12 can enter through Nov. 13. The official coloring sheet is available at Carson’s or at bit.ly/2eitQxF. Entries must be turned in by noon Nov. 13 at Carson’s at Circle Center Mall or mailed to IBEW No. 481, 1828 N. Meridian St., Ste. 205, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202.

Library offers leaf art project for tweens

GREENFIELD — Tweens age 8 through 12 are invited to create colorful artwork with fall leaves from 4 to 5 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Hancock County Public Library. Materials used include paint, crayons, chalk and paper. Register to attend at hcplibrary.org.

Crafty Ladies gets creative at gatherings

GREENFIELD — Crafty Ladies meet from 12 noon to 1 p.m. each Tuesday at the Pat Elmore Center, 280 N. Apple. Crafts include drawing, painting, stained glass, clay and jewelry. Cost per session is $8 for city residents and $10 for non-residents. All supplies are included.

Quilt guild gather for monthly meeting

GREENFIELD — Common Threads Quilt Guild meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church, 3179 N. County Road 600W.
