John B. Garrison

John B. Garrison, 73, of Fortville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. He was born Aug. 17, 1944, in Andrew, Indiana to Alonzo and Martha Garrison. John was a general contractor who built the Fortville Church of the Nazarene, of which he was a member. He was a custom home builder in Hancock and surrounding counties. John drew his own plans and was known for his integrity and attention to detail. John used his talents as a builder on several Work and Witness Trips, where he loved sharing his talents for the benefit of others.
John is survived by wife MaryLou (Gray) Garrison of Fortville, daughters Nicole (Thunder) Williams of Fortville and Natalie (John) Beegle of League City, Texas; grandchildren Miracle Williams, Avery and Mayah Beegle; and siblings Margaret Walker, Barbara Miller, Lona Sumrall and Bruce Garrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings: Dorothea King and Eugene Garrison.
A celebration John’s life will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Fortville Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Phil Edwards officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MaryLou Garrison.
