The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Aug. 29

Bamboo Garden Buffet

Location: 2160 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R – cheese and pepperoni used to make pizza need to be held at 41 degrees or below, corrected; C/R – working containers/spray bottles of chemicals must be labeled with common name, to be corrected by Nov. 1; NC – do not store knives between equipment, corrected; NC – clean outsides of ice buckets and bins holding flour and sugar, to be corrected by Nov. 1.

Ponderosa Steakhouse

Location: 1585 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – creamer must be held at 41 degrees or lower, corrected; NC/R – repair/secure stainless steel panel behind dish machine, to be corrected by Nov. 1.

Mozzi’s Pizza

Location: 1282 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – need to label bottles containing sanitizer, corrected; C – sanitizing solution in spray bottles is testing too high, corrected; NC – need sanitizing test strips, to be corrected by Nov. 1.

Sept. 5

Montana Mike’s

Location: 1945 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — must not use a common towel at bar — use paper towels provided, corrected; C — knives on magnetic strip must be clean to sight and touch, to be corrected by Sept. 5; NC — clean prep cooler interior, microwave ovens, breading station cars including wheels, lid of white container in walk-in cooler (chicken debris) and magnetic strip to remove food debris/residue, to be corrected by Dec. 1; C — label working spray bottle of degreaser, to be corrected by Sept. 5; NC — store ice scoops in clean protected manner, corrected; NC — paper towels need to be available at all times in meat cutting area, corrected; NC — lighting insufficient in prep area near walk-ins, to be corrected by Dec. 1.

Location: 215 W. Broadway St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — some deli meats not date-marked or others are dated exceeding seven days, corrected/discarded; C — deli meats have exceeded date-mark on package, corrected/discarded.

Pizza King

Location: 6550 W. Broadway St., McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — review employee health policy with all employees, corrected/sample given; C — cooler holding sliced cheese is running too warm, corrected; C — date-mark on lunch meat cannot exceed seven days, other lunch meat does not have date-mark, corrected; NC — paring knives, ice scoops and containers for storage must be clean to sight and touch, to be corrected by Sept. 5; NC — clean equipment door fronts/handles, table shelves, walls, etc. to remove food debris and residue, to be corrected by Dec. 1.

Sept. 6

CVS Pharmacy

Location: 5981 W. Broadway St., McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — expired baby formula, corrected/discarded.

Bonicci’s Family Fun Place

Location: 7397 N. County Road 600W, McCordsville
