MCCORDSVILLE
Brenda J. (Ferguson) Valentine, 60, of McCordsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at her residence. She was born on June 1, 1957 in Greenfield as the daughter of Jerrell Lavelle and Vera Jean (Cook) Ferguson.
Brenda graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School in 1975.
She worked for Brookside in McCordsville for five years and then later at Engineering Research Inc. (ERI) in Lawrence for five years as well. She most recently worked for Proportion Air in McCordsville for 15 years. Brenda was a member of McCordsville United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fortville VFW Post 6904 and Fortville American Legion Post 391.
Brenda is survived by her sisters, Betty Jo Ferguson and Billie Jean “Jeannie” (Wilby) Dotson both of McCordsville; nephew, Michael Dotson of McCordsville; niece, Lisa (Joe) Gause of Markleville; great-niece, Joely Gause; aunt, Dorothy “Dot” Forth of Greenfield; uncles, John Cook of Fortville, Jesse Cook of Fortville and Jerry Ferguson of Greenfield; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerrell and Vera Ferguson; and brother, Randy Ferguson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 124 E. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040. Burial will take place at a later date at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville. Brenda’s nephew, Rev. Michael Dotson will officiate the graveside service.
