GREENFIELD — A Henry County resident has been identified as the driver of the pickup truck involved in a fatal accident Tuesday at the intersection of county roads 250N and 600E in Greenfield.

Police say 46-year-old Austin Bainter of New Castle was driving a gray pickup truck north on County Road 600E when he collided with a westbound white minivan on County Road 250N that crossed into his path.

The driver of the minivan was 90-year-old Richard Pinkston of Greenfield, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by a representative from the Hancock County Coroner’s Office.

Bainter suffered minor injures in the crash and was treated at Hancock Regional Hospital.

Two girls — a 17-year-old and an 11-year-old — who were riding in the minivan with Pinkston were taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital. Their names and conditions have not been released.
