HANCOCK COUNTY — Three local marching bands participated in Indiana State School Music Association band contests over the weekend as they prepare for statewide competitions.

Greenfield-Central, New Palestine and Mt. Vernon high schools bused students to Johnson County for ISSMA events Saturday.

The invitational over the weekend gave local bands the chance to prepare for performances next weekend.
