GREENFIELD
Janet D. (Rainey) Perman, 70, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born on February 21, 1947 in Chrisney, IN as the daughter of James and Stella (Sandage) Rainey.
She graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1965 and received her cosmetology license from House of James Cosmetology School in 1978. Janet married Gerald “Gary” Perman on December 7, 1965 in Greenfield.
She worked for Hancock County Government as a deputy clerk and also worked for the auditor for 20 years before retiring in 2006. Janet was the owner of Jan’s Beauty Shop for many years. She attended Trinity Park United Methodist Church. Janet enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, antiquing and attending auctions. She also loved spending time with her family.
Janet is survived by her husband, Gerald “Gary” Perman of Greenfield; daughters, Krista Perman of Zionsville and Monica Perman Fox of Fortville; brothers, Don Rainey of Greenfield; sisters, Brenda (Ron) Shively of Greenfield and Faye (Terry) Lewis of Westfield, IN; and three grandchildren, Brennen, Ainslee, and Trae. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Stella Rainey; and sister, Goneth Rush.
A Funeral Service took place on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140 with viewing one hour prior to the service. Chaplain Katherine Murray officiated. Entombment followed at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
