To the editor:
Thank you for the recent article on the retirement of Eastern High School coach Gary Powers. For those of us involved in the local Parkinson’s support group, we have witnessed Gary’s agonizing challenges and struggles to continue to do what he loved and do battle with this disease at the same time.
Gary is an active member of the support group and has served as an inspiration to group members. Your article shined a spotlight on the issues faced by those with a chronic and progressive disease.
