Lelia Mae (Rosemeyer) Hanson, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born on June 11, 1927 in Indianapolis as the daughter of Otto and Ruby (Cuykendall) Rosemeyer.

She graduated from Tech High School in 1944. Lelia married George C. Hanson on May 9, 1947 in Indianapolis.

She was a member of Fountaintown Christian Church, where she was a former nursery school teacher and secretary. Lelia loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Indianapolis Pacers.

Lelia is survived by her sons, Larry (Vicki) Hanson of Shelbyville, David (Tonya) Hanson of Newburgh, IN and Thomas (Diane) Hanson of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Lorna Hanson of Morristown; brother, Richard (Sharon) Rosemeyer of Pendleton; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bob Hanson; and sister, Mary Alice Rhodes.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Joshua R. Hahn will be officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery in Fountaintown.
