Eastern Hancock Education Foundation to auction off trees

CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Eastern Hancock Education Foundation will auction off more than 250 trees starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 at the Eastern Hancock High School parking lot, 10320 E. County Road 250N.

The staff of Charlotte Creek Nursery will be on hand to answer questions. More than 250 trees, ranging in height from 8 to 16 feet, will be available, including red maple, Kentucky coffee, tulip, red oak, honey locust, upright European hornbeam, sugar maple, bur oak, pin oak, elm, sweetgum, sycamore, ginkgo, spruce, white pine, magnolia, winter king hawthorn, white dogwood, flowering pear, crab apple and weeping cherry. The auction will continue until all trees are gone. Trees must be picked up by 4 p.m. Sept. 10. The foundation will receive 50 percent of the proceeds from the auction to provide grants to Eastern Hancock teachers. For more information, visit sites.google.com/a/ehancock.org/districtcopy/
