Brunch and Bingo at Brookside

Midwest Reptile Show returns to State Fairgrounds

INDIANAPOLIS — The doors open at 10 a.m. for the Midwest Reptile Show Sunday at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St. A $5 admission (kids under 8 are free) allows visitors in to the hall where more than 130 vendors will offer reptiles, food, demonstrations and information. Museum celebrates 70 years of Harley-Davidson

INDIANAPOLIS — “The Harley Shop: Seventy Years of Indianapolis Southside Harley-Davidson” exhibit features artifacts, collectibles, photographs and vintage motorcycles in this showcase of iconic American treasures shown through the lens of a Hoosier family who has been in the business for almost a century. Showing now through Sept. 9, the Indiana Historical Society, 450 W. Short story discussions celebrate Year of Vonnegut

INDIANAPOLIS — In celebration of the Year of Vonnegut, Spark Placemaking in partnership with the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library will host short story readings and discussions of Hoosier author Kurt Vonnegut’s short story collection. Readings are held monthly through November at the City Market, 222 E. Market, on the Mezzanine level near Tomlinson Tap from 6 to 8 p.m. The August 30 discussion features Vonnegut short stories “Harrison Bergeron,” “Adam” and “The Foster Portfolio.” For more information or a copy of the stories to be discussed, email [email protected].

Hoosier illustrator artwork on display

ZIONSVILLE – The Sullivan Munce Cultural Center, 225 W. Hawthorne St., currently features an exhibit of published Hoosier children’s book illustrators. Among the artists whose works are displayed include Caleb Allen, Claudio Molina, Devon Kondaki, Jessie Strock, Jingo M. de la Rosa, Laura Winslow, Matt Vincent, Nathan Clement, Patricia McCormick, Paul & Alice Sharp, Rebecca Stockert, Sharon Vargo and T.C.
