Theater company auditions for “Twelve Angry Jurors”

GREENFIELD — The Ricks-Weil Theatre Co. announces auditions for its upcoming fall production of “Twelve Angry Jurors” (based on “Twelve Angry Men”) by Reginald Rose. Auditions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 28 and 29 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts Mainstage, 122 W. Main St. Director Kathy Hoegfen is searching for a racially, ethnically, culturally and generationally-diverse cast of 13 men and women, age 18 through 70 (stage age) to play several different roles. Those auditioning will be expected to read from the script and demonstrate some stage movement. Performances are October 27 through Nov.

Auditions for adults and children for “Little Things” ballet

GREENFIELD — Dance East Ballet Academy will conduct open auditions for its annual production of the original ballet “Little Things” from 10 a.m. to noon September 2. Adult roles to be cast include a mother, father, a grandmother and the magician Brockenbecker. No dance experience is necessary to perform the family folk dance and pantomime; acting experience is preferred, but not required. Children’s roles include gremlins, spiderwebs and angels. The role of the Evil Queen is also open to auditioners with dance experience. Rehearsals will be held Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Depending on the role, not all performers are needed at every rehearsal. Performances are Dec. 2 and 3 at the Ricks Centre. For more information, call Dana Hart at 317-318-9266.

Line-dancing class open to seniors

GREENFIELD – Seniors age 55 and up are welcome to participate in a line-dancing program Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Patricia Elmore Center, 280 Apple St. Beginners meet from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; the advanced group meets from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Participation is free.

Caramel Apple Fest to include caramel apple baking competition

GREENFIELD – As part of Tuttle Orchard’s Sept. 9 Caramel Apple Fest, cooks and bakers can enter the caramel apple baking competition. Entries are due at Tuttle Orchards, 5717 N. County Road 300W between 10 and 11 a.m. the day on the contest. Judging will take place between 11 and 11:30 a.m. The top three caramel apples will receive Tuttle Orchards gift cards. Greenfield Community Choir invites new members for 2017-2018 season

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Community Choir seeks new members for the 2017-2018 season. Rehearsals being Aug. 29 with an organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. followed by choir rehearsal at 7 p.m. at the Greenfield Christian Church, 23 N. East St. The choir is open to high school age through adult. No auditions are necessary. Membership is $25 per semester to cover the cost of music. The choir performs four major concerts a year.
