Pacers open season at home against Brooklyn

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers announced Monday their 2017-18 National Basketball Association schedule with Opening Night, Oct. 18, against the Brooklyn Nets. Game time at Bankers Life Fieldhouse will be 7 p.m.

After the opener, the Pacers host Portland Oct. 20 before making their first road trip of the season, a three-game trip to Miami, Minnesota and Oklahoma City.

Other home games of note include San Antonio (Oct. 29); Houston (Nov. 12); Toronto (Nov. 24), Oklahoma City (Dec. 13), Boston (Nov. 25, Dec. 18); Minnesota (Dec. 31); Cleveland (Dec. 8, Jan. 12); the Los Angeles Lakers (Mar. 19); the Los Angeles Clippers (Mar. 23) and Golden State (Apr. 5).

Indians’ Brault Named IL Pitcher of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Indians, in conjunction with the International League, announced that left-hander Steven Brault was named the IL Pitcher of the Week (Aug. 7-13).

The weekly honor is Brault’s second of the season and is the fifth overall for the Tribe in 2017. Right-hander Tyler Glasnow (July 24-30), first baseman/right fielder Joey Terdoslavich (July 13-16) and first baseman Jason Rogers (May 15-21) have all received weekly honors as well.

Brault, 25, did not allow a run while earning two wins for the Tribe this past week at home.
